Marriott Bonvoy Terms & Conditions Update November 2023 (Second)
Marriott has updated the Bonvoy guest loyalty program Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) for the second time this November.
The update mainly deals with adding two brands into the program, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy and Four Points Express (read more here), which we already covered last week.

Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy & Four Points Express by Sheraton
The T&Cs update deals with implementing these to the current Bonvoy program, starting with the number of points earned, earning of elute qualifying nights, and elite benefits guarantee.
Earnings Miles Instead of Bonvoy Points
Marriott Bonvoy members can earn partner points or miles automatically converted and deposited after each stay.
Elite Bonus Points are not awarded to Members with the earning preference set to Miles.
Marriott clarifies that you forgo elite bonus points if you choose to earn partner points/miles. Your Welcome Gift points, however, are deposited to your account and won’t be converted to a partner program.
Marriott Breakfast Exclusion
We recently covered the date change on the Platinum and higher member breakfast benefit exclusion that was set to December 31, 2023 (read more here), but then moved to June 30, 2024 (the date change is now pushed to June 30 on the T&Cs).
This exclusion affects 18 hotels where Platinum and higher members are not eligible for a complimentary breakfast for two in case their lounge is closed. The property can merely deposit a small number of points (worth $6) to your Bonvoy account.

The hotel above has been removed from the exclusion list, and it is no longer a Renaissance after conversion to another Marriott brand, Westin.
Conclusion
Surprisingly, it took this long for Marriott to qualify that you won’t earn the elite bonus if you choose to earn partner points/miles instead of Bonvoy ones.
The breakfast exclusion list is now valid through June 30, 2024, but there is one fever property (18 left).
There is nothing unexpected about how Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy and Four Points by Express have been included in the program T&Cs.
