53 Routes: Where Delta Air Lines Is Flying Its Airbus A321neos
Summary
- Delta Air Lines presently operates 42 Airbus A321neos.
- They are on 53 routes this October; 39 are served daily+, and 14 are sub-daily
- Seattle is the top airport to see the variant, but New York JFK-Las Vegas is the leading route.
Despite Delta Air Lines‘ first A321neo only entering service in May 2022, the SkyTeam carrier already has 42 examples. When writing, the most recent to arrive was N543DE, which Flightradar24 shows flew from Mobile to Minneapolis on September 8th. It entered service 13 days later from Minneapolis to Anchorage. All of Delta’s A321neos have 194 seats: 20 in first class seats, 42 in Comfort+, and 132 in regular economy.
53 routes in October
The A321neo will operate 53 routes this month, all domestic. Of these, 39 have daily or more flights and are shown on the following map.

A further 14 are sub-daily, including various one-offs and infrequent operations. They include Salt Lake City-Cincinnati (only October 14th and 21st) and Minneapolis-Orlando (the 25th).
In all, Delta has 3,990 A321neo departures this month. It means every one in 33 domestic flights is by the variant. Of its narrowbodies (excluding regional jets here), only the A220-300 (considered mainline) and 757-300 have fewer services. That is not surprising: Delta has fewer of them.

Seattle is the place to see them
Some 24 airports across the country will welcome its A321neos this month, of which Seattle has more departures than anywhere else, as summarized below. Notably, Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Detroit – its top three hubs by overall flights – do not feature. Instead, Minneapolis ranks eighth, Atlanta ninth, and Detroit 24th out of 24.

Top five A321neo routes
They are as follows. Note that the A321neo is the only equipment used on four of the five routes. The exception is JFK-Seattle, which also sees the 737-900 and (on one occasion) the 767-400ER. (Funnily enough, the 767-400ER is used on the day of writing: October 13th.)
- JFK-Las Vegas: 35 weekly (five daily)
- Los Angeles-Orlando: 25 weekly (three to four daily)
- Seattle-JFK: 21 weekly (triple daily)
- JFK-San Diego: 19 weekly (two to three daily)
- Seattle-Boston: 18 weekly (two to three daily)
