Hoover boutique bed and breakfast project gets zoning approval

A boutique bed and breakfast project will go before the Hoover City Council for approval Nov. 20 after clearing a hurdle this week with the Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission.

Developer Jordan Hosey of HBH Realty Inc. says, if the council approves the project, construction could begin next summer on the 24-room project off Stadium Trace Parkway and Mineral Trace.

The five-story Brock’s Gap Boutique BnB would occupy 2.4 acres on the site.

Hosey was the developer behind Buck Creek BNB in Helena, a similar project.

There were two dozen different designs prior to the final design, she said.

“We really took a lot of time and thought and feedback into creating this, with its position, where it sits on the lot so to not create a disturbance, the rooftop bar facing the (Hoover) Met,” Hosey said.

“We wanted to start hearing feedback as we were developing the plan. I wanted to have as much thought as I could to take into account the considerations of the neighbors.”
