Gun found in woman's backpack at Pittsburgh airport security checkpoint

Loaded gun found in woman’s backpack at Pittsburgh International Airport

The TSA says the firearm was detected at the security checkpoint on Tuesday.

For the second time this week, the Transportation Security Administration said a traveler with a loaded gun was stopped by TSA officers at Pittsburgh International Airport.The TSA said a .380 caliber handgun was detected in a woman’s backpack at the security checkpoint early Tuesday morning.The Bradford County woman faces a fine that could go as high as $15,000.This is the 32nd handgun found by TSA agents at the airport this year.In all of 2022, 26 guns were found.On Sunday, a Clarion County woman was stopped by TSA officers at the airport after a loaded handgun was found among her belongings.Guns are not permitted to be carried onto a flight. A firearm may only be transported as checked baggage if it’s properly stored and packed according to TSA guidelines.

The TSA said a .380 caliber handgun was detected in a woman’s backpack at the security checkpoint early Tuesday morning.

The Bradford County woman faces a fine that could go as high as $15,000.

This is the 32nd handgun found by TSA agents at the airport this year.

In all of 2022, 26 guns were found.

On Sunday, a Clarion County woman was stopped by TSA officers at the airport after a loaded handgun was found among her belongings.
