Trio of travelers take over unstaffed Nashville hotel
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three people on vacation found themselves running a hotel after the staff was nowhere to be found.
The friends tried to check into rooms reserved at the Nashville Airport La Quinta Inn but couldn’t find anyone in the hotel but guests.
Instead of finding a new hotel, they went behind the counter and started answering phone calls. An hour later, they were dealing with irate guests and preparing the hotel breakfast.
When they called the general manager, she said she was at a convention in another state.
Hours later, a general manager of a different hotel showed up to relieve the trio from the takeover and check them into a room.
The parent company of La Quinta Inn said an employee left the overnight shift early without letting management know. Since the incident, the employee has been fired.
