HEADLINES HERE AT 654. BREAKING OVERNIGHT, A WOMAN IS DEAD AFTER A HIT AND RUN. THIS HAPPENED JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT NEAR NORTHWEST 34TH IN PORTLAND. OKC PD FOUND A WOMAN LYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THEY GOT THERE, SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD. OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE SAY IT WAS A HIT AND RUN. AND RIGHT NOW THEY’RE ASKING ANYONE WITH INFORMATION, PLEASE COME FORWARD. AND ALSO BREAKING OVERNIGHT, A SUSPECT IS ON THE RUN CAUGHT BY A POLICE CANINE. THIS STARTED AT NORTHEAST 28TH AND MLK WHEN POLICE RESPONDED TO AN ABANDONED CAR. THEN THE SUSPECT TOOK OFF ON A STOLEN MOTORCYCLE. POLICE SECURED A PERIMETER AT NORTHEAST 27TH AND MISSOURI. THE SUSPECT THEN RAN AWAY. POLICE SAY THE CANINE FOUND THE SUSPECT AND BIT HIM. HE WAS BEING TREATED ON SCENE BY EMSA AND WAS RELEASED. WELL, HAPPENING TODAY, STATE SUPERINTENDENT RYAN WALTERS WILL TESTIFY BEFORE A HOUSE COMMITTEE ABOUT WHAT HE SAYS IS CHINESE INFLUENCE IN EDUCATION. WALTERS WANTS CONGRESS TO PASS NEW LAWS BANNING SCHOOLS FROM TAKING MONEY FROM FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS. HE’S SET TO SPEAK BEFORE THAT COMMITTEE AT 1015 CENTRAL TIME, 655. TIME FOR OUR LAST WEATHER ON THE FIVE METEOROLOGIST JONATHAN CONDER. IT’S A WET MORNING, BUT WE DON’T HAVE ANY WARNINGS RIGHT NOW. MODERATE RAIN AND THE NORTH METRO THROUGH THE VILLAGE, HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS DOWN IN NORMAN. WE HAVE A FLOOD ADVISORY FROM NORMAN EAST WATCH OUTS THAT BLUE BOX, MINOR FLOODING AND BORDERLINE SEVERE, MAYBE SOME DIME SIZED HAIL THERE JUST TO THE EAST OF THE NATIONAL WEATHER CENTER MOVING TOWARDS LAKE THUNDERBIRD. ALL THIS IS MOVING TO THE EAST. RAIN GOES BACK WEST AND THERE’S A LITTLE BIT MORE OUT NEAR ANADARKO. SO I’D IMAGINE AT LEAST SOUTH SIDE OF THE METRO WILL HAVE ON AND OFF RAIN FOR THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO AND A COUPLE TINY LITTLE CELLS POPPING UP NEAR KINGFISHER, NORTHERN OKLAHOMA, AND FAR NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA. YOU CAN SEE ALL THIS ON THE KOCO APP. JUST CLICK ON WEATHER AND RADAR. LET’S TALK ABOUT RAIN CHANCES. SO FROM 8 A.M. TO NOON, NORTHERN OKLAHOMA IS THE BEST CHANCE. AND THEN WE’RE GOING TO SEE NEW DEVELOPMENT INTO THE AFTERNOON ON. I HAVE A 80% CHANCE FOR OKC. THE RISK IS SIGNIFICANT. BIG HAIL, FLOODING, DAMAGING WINDS. THERE’S A TORNADO RISK, TOO. I WANT YOU READY FOR THE METRO ON THE FASTER SOLUTION. WE’RE DEFINITELY READY BY ABOUT 3 OR 4:00. THERE’S A CHANCE THOSE STORMS SLOW DOWN A LITTLE BIT AND NO ONE COME IN UNTIL THE END OF THE COMMUTE. A LOT OF RED. BUT TODAY’S THE BIGGEST DAY. THEN TOMORRO
