Steamship trip canceled over internal leak – The Martha's Vineyard Times

The Steamship Authority canceled two round trips on Saturday due to an “internal leak,” ferry officials said.

The 10:45 am and 1:15 pm boats to Vineyard Haven were canceled, as well as their return trips to Woods Hole..

Steamship spokesperson Sean Driscoll said that there was a “small internal leak from a fuel strainer” on the passenger ferry Nantucket. 

Repairs were made to bring the vessel back into service for the 2:30 pm ferry. 

“We’re working to accommodate the vehicles that didn’t make their trips and are using both lift decks on the M/V Island Home to help get people where they’re going,” the Steamship said in a statement. “Thanks to everyone for their patience today, and we apologize for the inconvenience.”
