Closest water park to Central Coast closes permanently

Raging Waters San Jose is permanently closed, the company announced on Wednesday.The water park, which was the closest one to most of the Central Coast, announced that the 2023 summer season would be its last.In a post on its website, the summer destination said, “Raging Waters San Jose is closed for the season and will not be reopening in 2024.” The park opened in 1985 and was the largest water park in Northern California.The final day of operation was Labor Day.Raging Waters’ parent company, Palace Entertainment, shut down the Raging Waters location in Sacramento in 2022 and their water park in Concord, California, in 2017. The company has not announced what it intends to do with the property. Two Raging Waters parks remain, one in San Dimas, California and one in Sydney, Australia.In the official announcement, the park thanked San Jose for nearly four decades of memories.
