Disney Lorcana No Longer Launching at Disneyland & Walt Disney World Tomorrow, Will Still Be Available at Times Square Disney Store & Local Gaming Shops
The highly anticipated release of the new Disney Lorcana trading card game is upon us, as the game officially hits specialty gaming store shelves tomorrow, August 18. However, a new announcement has fans wondering if the game will be available for purchase on launch day at the Disney Parks.
Disney Lorcana Launching Tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, the game will be available at specialty gaming stores, as well as the Disney Store in Times Square and at The Storybook Store in Disneyland Paris.
However, an announcement from Disney Lorcana today on Twitter shared that the game may not be available for purchase at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort as previously planned, instead stating that additional Disney Parks locations are “coming soon.”
While both Walt Disney World and Disneyland were not specifically named in the announcement, both the Disney Lorcana official Twitter account and Disney Cast Members refused to confirm or deny whether Disney Lorcana product would be available for purchase at the parks on launch day.
The trading card game will have a wider release, including availability on shopDisney, September 1. The game made its debut at Gen Con 2023, and pre-orders were available at some big box stores like Best Buy.
In Disney Lorcana, players “wield magic inks and the power of Lorcana to assemble [a] team of Disney characters. Some characters will be familiar friends. Others will be fantastically reimagined.”
