Unpublished Initial Bonus Offer Up To 50,000 Points For Bilt Mastercard

I receive compensation for content and many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as is American Express, Chase, Barclays and Capital One. Any opinions expressed in this post are my own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by my advertising partners. I do not write about all credit cards that are available — instead focusing on miles, points, and cash back (and currencies that can be converted into the same). Terms apply to the offers and benefits listed on this page.

The Bilt World Elite Mastercard is one of the best products in the market. It has no annual fee, and earns 3x on dining and 2x on travel (you must make at least 5 purchases per month to earn points) and lets you earn points paying rent without any fee as well, earning up to 100,000 points per year.

They’ve really branded the first of every month, “Rent Day,” with great promotions each month. In addition to earning double points, up to 10,000 bonus points on the day, with the Bilt World Elite Mastercard – and that even applies to bonus categories like dining where you earn 6x (rent earn isn’t doubled) – they come up with offer after offer like elite status with United MileagePlus and with Hyatt; transfer bonuses like 100% to Hawaiian, to Air France KLM, and up to 150% to Virgin; and opportunities for free points and to have rent covered.

And there are numerous additional ways to earn in the program like points for Lyft rides (they’re the most lucrative Lyft partner for this in my view) and a new dining program to earn 5x points at restaurants on top of your usual credit card earning and that stacks whether you have a Bilt credit card or not.

But if there’s been one knock on the card, it’s been that it doesn’t have an initial bonus offer. I’ve pointed out that if you rent at $3,000 per month for 3 years you’ll earn over 100,000 points you wouldn’t have on any other program. Yet still some people who are renters sit on the sidelines. I’ve found great value in the card even though I own my home.

Here’s the thing, there actually is an initial bonus offer they’ve been extending. For quite some time, new cardmembers have received an offer of earning quintuple points for 5 days, up to 50,000 points (that’s effectively an extra 4 points per dollar on unbonused spend). It’s equivalent to a 50,000 point bonus offer with $12,500 spend… in 5 days. Consider timing your application with big expenses, or save up expenses if you can – think homeowners insurance, school tuition – to earn this bonus.

Greg Davis-Kean confirms that new cardmembers are still extended this offer,

Bilt’s welcome offer for their card is now official: everyone who signs up can earn 5x rewards within the first 5 days upon the card arriving, with a cap of 50,000 bonus points (details here). Since the 50K cap is on bonus points rather than base points, this means that a new cardholder can earn 5x on up to $12,500 of 1x spend. Until this offer became official, we only knew about it because readers kept reporting that they received an email with this offer after signing up for the Bilt card.

You can redeem points for rent or Amazon (please don’t, too many more lucrative ways to use your points) or use points towards paid travel at 1.25 cents per point, even on Disney which most travel portals exclude, though my favorite is points transfers.

Bilt is the only program with American AAdvantage as a transfer partner, and they’re unique in having both American and United. Plus they have Air Canada and Turkish in Star; British Airways, Iberia and Cathay Pacific (lower fuel surcharges on BA) in oneworld; Air France KLM in SkyTeam (the only good SkyTeam program tbh); plus Aer Lingus; Emirates; Hawaiian; Virgin Atlantic. And for hotels they have IHG and the single best hotel points transfer, Hyatt.

I’m not a renter and I have and use the Bilt World Elite Mastercard. That’s because this is the most exciting program to engage in, with regular new features and benefits and new promotions like 100% transfer bonuses.

The value from this card and this program is incredible. The one complaint about lack of initial bonus offer turns not to be quite correct. Congratulations to Greg for taking full advantage of it.
