Roadwork Ahead—Construction in Oneida, Madison, Herkimer, Montgomery, Fulton and Hamilton Counties

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) — Multiple counties in the area will see various road construction projects that could cause delays starting on Monday, Aug. 14.

The following construction and maintenance projects are from the New York State Department of Transportation, Mohawk Valley Region.

Oneida County:

Town of New Hartford, Town of Paris: Route 8 between Route 5/8/12 and Morgan Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to various drainage and guiderail work.

Town of New Hartford: Genesee Street between Paris Road and Mill Street. Motorists will encounter overnight lane closures in both directions on Genesee Street between Oxford Road/Campion Road and Pearl Street with flaggers in place due to waterline work.

Town of New Hartford: Genesee Street between Richardson Ave and Wilbur Rd. Motorists will encounter lane closures/shifts in both directions due to conduit work.

Town of New Hartford: Route 5 Eastbound at Wilbur Road exit Ramp. Motorists will encounter shoulder work due to overhead sign construction.

Town of New Hartford: Route 5 Seneca Turnpike at Middle Settlement Road New Hartford. Motorists will encounter a Westbound right lane closure and a closure of the Westbound exit ramp to Middle Settlement Road due to curb replacement Monday.

City of Utica: Route 5/8/12 between Lomond Place and Burrstone Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions. The on ramps for Route 5/8/12 going northbound and southbound from French Road will be closed with a detour in place. The detour will be French Road to Burrstone Road to Route 5/8/12. This will be for repairs to the bridges over French Road. There is also a speed limit reduction of 45MPH through the work zone.

Village of Yorkville: Champlin Ave between Campbell Ave and Whitesboro Street. A full northbound lane closure with a signed detour in place due to construction activities. Traffic will be detoured to Burrstone Road east bound to Route 5/8/12 north to Oriskany Street westbound. All traffic south bound on Champlin Ave will be maintained.

Town of Verona, City of Rome: Route 46/49 between Siefert Road and Route 69. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to culvert replacement, ditching operations and shoulder repair.

Town of Verona: Route 46 between Route 316 and Route 31. Motorists will encounter a full road closure with a signed detour in place due to culvert repairs. The detour for north bound traffic will be Route 46 north to Route 316 north to Route 31, east on Route 31 to Route 46. The south bound detour will be Route 46 south to Route 31 west to Route 316 south to Route 46.

Town of Vienna: Route 49 between Vienna Road/Route 13 and Kimball Road. Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to drainage improvements.

City Of Rome: Route 26 between Route 365 and Erie Blvd. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place and rolling stoppages overnight Monday through Wednesday due to overhead sign structure work.

Town of Marcy/City of Utica: Route 49 between Cavanaugh Road and Route 12. Motorists will encounter shoulder closure in both directions due to construction.

City of Utica: Route 12 Northbound between Thruway Bridge and South Trenton Exit. Motorists will encounter shoulder closures Northbound only due to foundation installation.

Village of Remsen: Route 12 at Steuben Street intersection in Remsen. Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions due to foundation installation.

Town of Whitestown: Route 922A Mohawk Street over Erie Barge Canal. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both direction with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Village of Oriskany: Route 922E River Street over Erie Barge Canal. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both direction with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Town of Trenton: Route 28 over West Canada Creek. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both direction with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Town of Whitestown: Route 922A Mohawk Street over Mohawk River. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both direction with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Town of Vienna: Route 49 over Wood Creek. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both direction with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Town Of Whitestown: Route 5A Eastbound ramp to Oriskany Boulevard. Motorists will encounter a right lane closure due to utility work.

Town of Trenton: Route 12 between Putnam Road and Route 365 ramp. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to crack sealing.

City of Rome: Route 49 between Route 365 ramp to Route 825. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to crack sealing.

Herkimer County:

Town of Manheim/Town of St Johnsville: Route 5 between Snells Bush Road and Old State Road. Motorists will encounter long term shoulder closures in both directions on the bridge over the East Canada Creek.

Town of Danube: Route 5S between Depot Road and Canal Road. Motorists will encounter a full road closure with a detour in place due to bridge replacement. The detour will be Route 5S to Route 169 to Route 5 (Nelliston) to River Road to Route 5S.

Town of Ohio: Route 8 between Military Road and Route 365. Motorists will encounter alternating one-way lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

Village of Ilion: Route 51 @ Clark Street. Motorists will encounter short duration flagging operations due to road cuts and conduit installation.

Town of Frankfort: Route 5S between Turner Street and the Village of Ilion. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to guiderail and sign work.

Village of Cold Brook: Route 365 area of Harvey Bridge Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to crack sealing.

Hamilton County:

Town of Indian Lake: Route 28/30 between Durant Road and Old Route 28. Motorists will encounter lane and/or shoulder closures with flaggers in place due to wetland construction and the installation of turtle barrier in the area along Lake Durant.

Town of Arietta: Route 28 at the South Inlet of Raquette Lake. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with the continuous use of temporary signals construction activities.

Town of Long Lake, Hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake: Route 30 between the Route 28-Route 30 Junction and the Village of Long Lake. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers and temporary signals in place due to emergency road repairs.

Town of Long Lake: Route 28N between South Hill Road and Reservoir Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with the use of temporary signals due to emergency road repairs.

Village of Speculator: Route 30 Village of Speculator between Village of Speculator line and Route 8 in Wells. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to Maintenance work.
